Introduction

TM is committed to clearly communicate its strategy and activities regularly to its shareholders and, to that end, maintain an active dialogue with investors through a planned programme of investor relations activities and engagement.
The key role of Investor Relations Unit is to proactively disseminate relevant and timely information to the investment community. These efforts are to ensure that stakeholders are abreast of the TM’s strategies, performance updates and key business activities.
In ensuring best practice is adhered to, all communication with the capital market is governed by the Investor Relations Policy and Guidelines. This is to maintain fairness and timeliness of disclosure of information to all shareholders.
Key Investor Relations initiatives are aimed at improving relationship with stakeholders, quality of disclosures, and timeliness of information distributed.

Quarterly Financial Results Announcement and Briefing

TM conducted briefing sessions to analysts and fund managers’ via teleconferencing subsequent to the release of TM’s quarterly earnings disclosure to Bursa Securities. These sessions were chaired by the Group CEO and attended by Senior Management representing TM’s key line of business. These were aimed at providing an avenue for a clear understanding of the financial and operational performance of the Group.

Presentation Slides on Financial Results

In our quest to continuously improve our disclosure, presentation material is important to reflect TM’s key business operations. Presentation slides of the announced results are prepared in an investor-friendly manner to aid understanding of the Group’s financial results and performance. These are made available promptly on the Company’s website following the release of information first to Bursa Securities. A copy of the presentation slide is also distributed by e-mail to analysts and investors who are on the Investor Relations distribution list.

  Engaging Investors
  • One-on-one Meetings, Conference Calls and Investor Conferences
The Group CEO, Group CFO and Investor Relations team are actively involved in Investor Relations activities through regular meetings and conference calls with fund managers, analysts, rating agencies and other stakeholders held in Malaysia and abroad.
Domestically, TM participated in small group meetings organized by local research houses and attended the annual Malaysia investment conference, Invest Malaysia. Throughout the year, close to 300 in-house meetings and conference calls with investors and analysts were conducted.

  • Annual Analyst Day
To further improve our communication with investors and analysts, TM organised a yearly Analyst Day which is normally held to coincide with the full-year financial results announcement. Invited participants include local and foreign analysts, fund managers as well as major shareholders. The main idea of having this event is to provide participants the opportunity to interact and engage directly with the management team.
During the Analyst Day 2009, participants were taken for a tour to TM Digital Home. The home concept was set-up to showcase the ideal digital lifestyles through the availability of High Speed Broadband (HSBB).
